What a variant mark is actually telling you on a Black Panther NFT comic
Cover swaps and court-seal overlays are not the same class of object. Collectors in Bangkok keep mixing them; the desk notes below keep them apart.
A cover swap changes the first page you see. A court-seal overlay is a later mark applied to an issue that already existed. Both get called variants in casual talk. They are not interchangeable when you are closing a Black Panther run.
We ask three questions in intake. Was the mark sold with the original packet? Did it alter the story pages or only the opening plate? Was it offered to the same collector list or to a later gift binding? If the answers split, the object goes on a separate line in the shortlist.
People sometimes want every seal because the gold reads as complete. Completeness in this desk means the story packet, not the jewelry on the plate. If you collect seals as their own small set, say so. We will not hide them; we will just stop pretending they fill a missing issue 5.
Bring a brief to the desk if this note describes the stall you are in.
